It looks to be a war of words between Kanye West and late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. On September 26, Kanye went off on Jimmy via Twitter, clearly upset over the TV star’s recent spoof of Kanye’s much-discussed BBC Radio 1 Interview.
Kanye’s use of all caps and foul language (as well as a few digs about Jimmy’s love life and overall moral character) understandably caught the host’s attention. He responded to some of what Kanye wrote via his own Twitter but waited to fully address the topic until that night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live.
“He called me. He said a lot of things,” Jimmy said during his opening monologue. “He said I had two choices. Number one, apologize publicly. And that was really the only choice.” The audience laughs accordingly.
“The other choice he gave was ‘Your life,’ he said, ‘is going to be much better if you apologize.’”
Jimmy then reads Kanye’s tweets aloud and makes a slight jab at Kanye’s girlfriend Kim Kardashian, referencing her infamous sex tape and how it proves Kanye does have some pretty good, well, you know in his life.
“A lot of hash in those tags!” Jimmy continues, laughing. He passes on making any comment on the message referencing his ex-girlfriend and fellow comedian, Sarah Silverman, before showing slightly edited versions of the visual aids crafted by Kanye.
As for that phone call between Kanye and Jimmy, the rap mogul reportedly told the TV star, “I am the most powerful voice in media. I am Pac,” which made at least one of Jimmy’s dreams come true: “Finally I’m in a rap feud!”
Seeing as Kanye is reportedly on a plane to Paris right now with Kim, we’re not sure what he makes of this latest move in the feud. We’re sure we’ll hear all about it soon, though.
