Two Convicted Murderers Found Running a Summer Camp For Kids
Imagine finding out that your child has been attending a summer camp run by two convicted murderers. MSN reports that Doris Bullock and Deidra Gary were found working at North Carolina University running the institution’sKiddie Kollege Summer Camp for children ages 5 to 12. Both women have served time in prison for killing family members.
Doris Bullock, formerly Doris Braswell, was convicted of second-degree murder in the death of her infant child back in 1981 and was released in 1993. Deidra Gary, formerly Deidra Lane, served six years in prison for killing her husband Fred Lane, a pro football player with the Carolina Panthers, and was released in 2009.
The university said in a statement, “The safety of our campus is a primary focus and we are proud of our performance in this regard. Doris and Deidra are exemplary and professional employees. They are productive citizens who make positive contributions to the community. Their work is highly regarded and parents have expressed support for the children’s program. While I remain confident in their ability, I have decided to re-assign both employees to their administrative roles at the university. It is paramount to maintain a positive learning environment for the children. We will continue to maintain diversity within our staff and evaluate employees on their merit."
The women have both since been reassigned to administrative roles with the university and are no longer involved with the summer children’s camp.
