Tyga Finally Breaks Silence on Kylie’s Age Difference
Ever since reports first surfaced of then-17-year-old Kylie Jenner dating 25-year-old Tyga, a lot of people have obsessed over the age difference between the two. And when Kylie turned 18 last year... people still had a hard time with the eight-year age gap.
Tyga, now 26, had never really addressed the issue head-on, but he finally opened up about the subject during an interview with San Francisco radio station 106 KMEL.
According to the rapper, age is just a number, and he didn't even consider it when he met the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star. "It's hard to talk about [the age difference] because people are gonna bash," he says. "I didn't understand it though because I'm like, 'This person is a really good person.'"
"It's almost like, the devil keeps trying to tell me something to not follow God, just let God do what he gotta do," he continues, referring to the media criticism of his relationship. "So, I don't really know how to speak on that because it's just something I have to deal with. A lot of things in life, you just gotta deal with it as it comes."
He also uses his senior status in the relationship to impart wisdom on his teenage girlfriend.
"Me being older than her, I've been through a lot more things so I can help her more with it even though she's been more in tabloid media limelight than I have been," he reveals. "But I can see that because I know what type of person she is. I know what she deals with."
"I just feel like the grass is always greener on the other side to people, you feel me," he said. "It's like worry about your own grass and yours will be just as green. I'm keeping it all the way one hundred."
Clearly, Tyga doesn't seem to care about the age difference, which by the way is four years fewer than the twelve-year difference between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, so maybe it's time the rest of us stopped caring, too.
