Tyler Baltierra Hates on Columbus Day: “It Should Be Native American Day”

Let's all give a collective high five to Christopher Columbus, who sailed the ocean blue in 1492 and gave us a three day weekend in the process. In case you need a refresher, Christopher Columbus "discovered" the New World, which apparently makes him deserving of a national holiday. However, some people (read: some Teen Mom stars) don't think he's all that.

Our biggest crush, Tyler Baltierra, took it to Instagram on October 14 and posted an e-card of Christopher Columbus with the caption, "Let's celebrate Columbus day by walking into someone's house and telling them we live there now."

Sigh, we love it when the Teen Mom stars get political! And Tyler has a point. Let's not forget that Christopher Columbus murdered and enslaved hundreds of Native Americans who most definitely were chilling out in the New World before he even set foot there.

"HAHA! This is great!" Tyler posted along with his Instagram photo. "Made LOL! Everyone forgets we live in a stolen land. This country was never ours & never will be #RememberTheNatives #Peace,Love&Spirit #ColumbusDay #ShouldbeNativeAmericanDay."

Amen to that, Tyler! Many people in the USofA are downright offended that we celebrate Columbus Day, and there are movements to eradicate the holiday altogether. How do you feel about Tyler's cause? Hit the comments!
