We’re not sure if Caleb Rivers (Tyler Blackburn) is any safer in Rosewood than he was in Ravenswood, but we’re glad to have him back in Pretty Little Liars Season 5 — and he’s happy to be back! What hints did Tyler give about the upcoming season?

“Thank you all for welcoming me back! Season 5 of @ABCFpll is going be intense!!” Tyler tweeted, shortly after the news that he would be returning to the show broke. We already have some idea of just how intense Season 5 is going to get, given the tease that one of our beloved characters is going to end up in the hospital in the Season 5 premiere. And they won’t just be there for a scraped knee — the premiere episode calls for a paramedic and two surgeons.

This is “serious danger” we’re talking about. Might the victim in question be Hanna? It would certainly be a good narrative catalyst for Caleb’s return to Rosewood because we’re going to need a good one to believe that he would abandon Ravenswood and all that was going down there to return. The only reason we can think of — short of breaking the Ravenswood curse — is if Caleb believes Hanna’s life is in mortal danger. You know, more than it already usually is.

Might Tyler’s mention of intensity have less to do with the “A” game and more to do with Caleb’s relationship with Hanna? Though these two obviously still have feeling for one another, he broke her heart a little bit when he chose to stay in Ravenswood. She may have had some semblance of understanding concerning what he was doing there and how high the stakes really were, but that doesn’t mean she didn’t feel pain when he stayed away. Things have also been heating up between Hanna and Travis. Will Caleb’s return mark the beginning of a love triangle between these three characters? We can’t imagine Hanna choosing anyone over Caleb, but we don’t necessarily the road back to Haleb happiness is going to be an easy one, either. Some might even call it “intense.”

What intensity do you think Tyler is referring to in Season 5? The “A” game? His relationship with Hanna? Both? Sound off in the comments below!
