Tyler Blackburn (Caleb Rivers) may be back on Pretty Little Liars as a series regular in Season 5, but he has his sights set on another entertainment goal: movies. What did he tell Fiji Airlines about his aspirations for the future?

Tyler took some time from his picturesque Fiji Airlines-sponsored trip to Fiji to talk upcoming plans. He mentioned returning to Pretty Little Liars, of course, but that’s not the only thing on his docket: “I think I’m going to go film some more Pretty Little Liars, and then I’m also going to be auditioning for news shows,” he said in a Fiji Airlines video interview. “Every year, there’s a few months called pilot season in the entertainment business and they cast new shows that will be coming out, so I’m going to go audition for that. And then also movies, and see what’s out there because I’ve been focusing so much on Pretty Little Liars and Ravenswood for so long, so I’m anxious to see what else is out there as an actor. It’s fun to try new things.”

What new things would Tyler like to try? Well aside from possibly branching out into movie, he also talked genre: “I love every genre, but I feel like a good action movie or show, or even a little bit like a thriller — like something like The Walking Dead… Something like that where it’s more physical and the stakes are really high and it’s action-packed.” Have you been watching Pretty Little Liars, Tyler? The stakes are getting pretty darn high. But, we’ll forgive you. You’ve been off fighting ghosts in Ravenswood.

Tyler also addressed the danger of losing fans when switching genres and target demographics — though he seems to have faith that his fanbase will continue to support him, even if they don’t love a particular project: “You want to, as an actor, show that you can do other things, but you also want to maintain your fanbase… I want to be able to do things that are for me, and I hope that people who are my fans really do like it or they don’t have to love it, but at least accept it.” We’re with you, Ty!

Would you watch Tyler in another project, even if it wasn’t in the same vein as Pretty Little Liars? What do you think he should do next? Sound off in the comments below!
