Survivor: Blood Vs. Water Finale — Tyson Apostol Wins Season 27!
The time has come for us to bid farewell to yet another season of Survivorand congratulate one castaway on outwitting, outplaying, and outlasting their fellow contestants. Season 27 of the long-running CBS reality competition show saw a huge twist, pitting families against each other, dubbing this season “Blood vs. Water.” But which player snagged the $1 million check from host Jeff Probst this year?
This season’s winner is none other than three-time player Tyson Apostol. The 34-year-old professional cyclist had previously appeared on Survivor: Tocantins (placing 8th) and Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains (coming in 15th) — but he totally dominated Blood vs. Water. Tyson entered the season with 33-year-old girlfriend Rachel Foulger, but she was gone for good on Day 7, leaving him to only deal with the “water” portion of the season.
Tyson was joined in the Final 3 with fellow returning players Monica Culpepper and Gervase Peterson. But it was Tyson who walked away with the majority vote, scoring five out of eight votes from the jury members. Clearly the family members stood no chance this season.
So far Tyson has remained mum on Twitter about his big win, though he has retweeted a few congrats messages. One tweet in particular comes from fellow contestant and jury member Vytas Baskauskas, who said, “Congratulations to a great winner. @TysonApostol played one of the best games in Survivor history!” We agree, Vytas!
