Tyson Beckford’s Nephew Crashes Truck Into New York City Bus, Faces Manslaughter Charges
Domonic Whilby — the 22-year-old man from Griffin, Georgia, who cops say is responsible for a deadly New York City bus crash on February 12 — has been discovered to the nephew of model-actor Tyson Beckford.
As the New York Daily Newsreports, Instagram photos show Domonic and Tyson partying together earlier that night at a birthday celebration for model Shanina Shaik.
Domonic was later kicked out of two New York City hotspots — 1OAK and Dream Downtown Hotel — in the early morning hours of February 12.
Sources say he became agitated when he couldn't find his limousine. A landlord of nearby buildings tells the newspaper that his surveillance video shows Domonic knocking on random doors and sweating profusely.
Domonic then allegedly stole the box truck from the garage below the Maritime Hotel as it made a delivery around 5:30 a.m. — injuring the driver.
Authorities say he then sped through a red light and crashed into a city bus on the corner of 14th Street and Seventh Avenue. The bus driver, William Pena, was pronounced dead on the scene and four others were injured.
Domonic was charged with manslaughter, two counts of grand larceny, three counts of criminal assault, criminal mischief, and criminal trespass.
