Jennifer Lawrence Narrates Video For the University of Louisville Cardinals, Her Hometown Team (VIDEO)
Jennifer Lawrence is root-root-rooting for the home team, lending her voice to a video promoting the sports teams of the University of Louisville.
The two-time Oscar nominee grew up in the Kentucky city, only a couple hours away from Union, KY, where Hunger Games co-star Josh Hutcherson grew up. Both Josh and Jen have proven themselves to be big fans of the U of L Cardinals.
This new video trumpets the school's recent inclusion in the ACC, i.e. the Atlantic Coast Conference, one of the conferences in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
"I grew up in the Derby City, home to a proud and storied university filled with rich athletic tradition and packed with fans who are as loyal and passionate as any in college sports," Jen says in the video. "This region and these people live and breathe the Cardinals. … This is the future. This is the ACC. This is the Louisville Cardinals. Let's do this."
The university, which was founded over 200 years ago, is home to over 22,000 students. Jen herself didn't go, opting to head straight to Hollywood, but its clear homegirl has a lot of school pride anyway. May the odds be ever in the Cards' favor!
