On Thursday night, WE TV premiered its newest reality show, SWV Reunited, which follows the comeback of ‘90s Grammy-nominated R&B group SWV. During the premiere, fans got a chance to catch up with Cheryl “Coko” Gamble, Leanne “Lelee” Lyons, and Tamara “Taj” Johnson-George, and guys? Theses ladies have gone through a lot over the years.

In case you’re not familiar with the group, Sisters With Voices, aka SWV, rose to fame in 1992 with a string of hit songs including “I’m So Into You,” “Right Here,” and “Weak.” The women continued their success into the late ‘90s before internal tensions between the singers tore them apart in 1998. In 2005, the girls worked out their differences and starting working together again and even released a new song, “Co-Sign” in 2011.

Now, the group is back with a vengeance airing it all out on TV. So far, we’ve learned that Leelee and Taj are unhappy with their current manager, Cory Tayler, who so happens to be Coko’s friend, and managed the singer’s solo career in the past. Lelee has a desperate need for the group to work together again, as she’d love to start singing again, and while Taj definitely wants to work again, her seemingly lackadaisical attitude (from being a former model and NFL football player’s wife) rubs the remaining members the wrong way. And then there’s Coko’s shocking breast cancer scare, which puts a hold on the girls’ dreams of ever making a comeback.

So far we’re loving the ladies’ chemistry. Their constant jokes about Lelee’s failed love life is pretty hilarious and watching these girls croon on stage brings us back to the happier times of our younger years.

While we definitely expect to see a couple fights here and there, we’re totally up to watching these sisters with voices have fun and bring back their signature R&B sound.

A new episode of SWV Reunited airs Thursday, January 23 at 10 p.m. ET on WE TV. What did you think of SWV’s new reality show? Sound off in the comments below!
