La La Anthony is more than a TV personality — she’s the wife of NBA star Carmelo Anthony, the proud momma to 7-year-old son Kiyan, and a philanthropist!

In partnership with Active Family Project, La La has teamed up with the organization to help spread the word about National Family Playdate, which takes place on Saturday, May 10. The designated day aims to inspire moms and dads to make family time a priority in the midst of their busy schedules.

With the help from La La, actress Angie Harmon, and Olympian Jennie Finch, Active Family Project hopes their special dates will also inspire other families to carve out quality time to be active together as one unit.

So what does a playdate with Lala, her husband, and their son entail? “As a family we love to go for walks in Central Park,” she admits. “And of course Kiyan loves to play basketball like his dad.” How cute!

According to a national survey from Merck Consumer Care’s Active Family Project, moms say that they have an average of about five family playdates a month, but, due to other obligations, family dates get postponed. And that’s where National Family Playdate comes in — it gives families an excuse to stop making excuses!

Active Family Project has also teamed up with the non-profit KaBOOM! — which is dedicated to making playtime a priority for America’s children — to help raise funds in order to build play places around the country.

So how can you get involved? It’s simple as making an active family date on May 10. You can also snap a photo of your day together and post it on Active Family Project’s Facebook to trigger a $1 donation to KaBOOM! Not a bad tradeoff to spending the day playing with the family, huh?
