Angela Bassett is set to direct a biopic about her Waiting to Exhale co-star and friend, the late Whitney Houston. The movie, which is slated for release in 2015, hasn’t announced any casting news yet, but there’s one person who says she’s the absolute candidate to play the late singer — Whitney’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown.

Bobbi Kristina took to Twitter on Monday, May 26 to announce that she was the only person worthy enough to tell her mother’s story.

“Any1 would or should EVER play my mother & tell OUR story, we've talked MANY times & 1 & ONLY person she approved of is ME. Understand that,” she tweeted, followed by “&& I hope that answers every && ANYONES questions about it to me. You don't have to like it, but it WILL be respected. Always&4ever.”

Bobbi later tweeted that she “TRULY understand ppl want 2 love & honor #HERSTORY way they think should be told. But simply out of respect, All I ask isn't mucho lol :).”

We can totally understand Bobbi’s desire to play her mom on the small screen — who would know her best, right? At the same time, however, there will be a need for someone who has acting skills and we have no clue as to watch talents Bobbi Christina has up her sleeves.

The movie, tentatively titled Whitney, will follow both the highs and lows of Whitney’s career as a singer and her marriage to Bobbi Christina’s dad, singer Bobbi Brown.

“I have such regard for both Whitney’s and Bobby’s amazing talents and accomplishments; and I feel a responsibility in the telling of their story,” Angela said. “Their humanity and bond fascinates us all.  I’m beyond excited to have this opportunity to go behind the camera and into their world,” Angela said in a press release.

If Bobbi Christina does believe she’s the best person to star as her mother in this film, hopefully she’ll audition for the role and knock it out of the park. And of course, we can’t wait to see how it all turns out.
