It’s no secret that Tamar Braxton loves to give unsolicited advice to her older sisters — as made clear during all three seasons of Braxton Family Values — and the Love & War singer recently explained that she does so because of her outspoken nature. Well guys, older sister Trina Braxton had a few words of wisdom for her baby sis, which basically translated to “don’t dish it if you can’t take it.”

While speaking at the 20th Annual Essence Music Festival in New Orleans this past weekend, Tamar tried to make her case for her “help,” by saying, “I was outspoken and I thought that because they were my sisters, it was cool for me to give my unsolicited advice and opinions on their life and what’s going on with them.” However, Trina didn’t agree with her sister’s excuse, and let her know it by firing back during the event.

“You can’t say, ‘Oh, OK. I thought I was giving this unsolicited advice’ and think that it’s some kind of therapeutic thing,” Trina tells her baby sis. “Because if someone says the same thing to you, it’s like, ‘You tried it. No, you didn’t. Who you talking to?’

Tamar, who was visibly quieted by her sister’s comment, continued to hold her tongue as Trina continued, “You have to be cognitive of the things you say to other people so when it’s reciprocated you can’t get upset… and try it” with a signature Tamar lip-smack to bring her point home.

While Tamar did say she’s since learned her lesson from watching her sisters’ reaction to her comments on TV, we’re still anxious to see if the advice-dishing diva will go back to her old ways when Braxton Family Values Season 4 comes back to WE TV.
