Many people had a perplexed reaction to the news of Grammy Award-winning artist Chrisette Michele entering the reality TV world as a main cast member on R&B Divas L.A. Season 2. While many enjoyed the idea of getting to see more of the talented musician, others thought that Chrisette's laid back style wouldn't mesh well with the drama-filled world, and as it turns out, Chrisette seems to agree with the latter opinion.

Over this past weekend, the "Best of Me" songstress penned an open letter to her fans via Instagram.

"Hey can I write you a letter?" Chrisette started. "Dear fans, Maybe you were right about me not doing a reality show. I have had so much fun staying beneath the radar."

Chrisette went on to say that she never thought "wearing angel wings and trying to be open about feelings would make people send me evil tweets and receive awful phone calls," with people labeling her "A Diva."

Chrisette continued on saying that she was "truly just here to say hello on your TV screens to show you who I am outside of this music/Hollywood stuff" but that "maybe reality was a mistake. Maybe I should stay in my comfortable cave where I'm only loved."

The singer wrote about receiving love from fans solely from her music, and the moments that are not televised, but she's seen a shift now that she has let people in to see her quirky sensibilities.

"Some people aren't meant to share their personality," she said. "Maybe I'm one of those people. One of those who are protected by the Art. Art is love and it covers. It shields. I don't see myself doing reality again. I'll hang out with my pet unicorn in Artist-ville. This negativity is tragic, and I can't transfer these vibes to my Art. I love you."

While Chrisette refrained from naming those (celebs and the like) who "quell" her "light," she assured her fans that she would not speak negatively of anyone (possibly her unfriendly co-stars) in further interviews and will not "participate in brokenness."

"Light is my nourishment. Be well. The Rich Hipster Captain #chrisette #ChrisetteMichele #Art #RichHipster #randbdivasLA #rbdivasla #rbdivas #iamstillhere #itsByTheGraceOfGod," she ended her note.
