On the newest episode of R&B Divas L.A. a bit of irony hits one of the divas — hard. The divas are officially moving forward with work on their two records for the Puerto Rico project, and for the first recording, Chanté Moore is picked to sing backing vocals.

Chanté getting put on backup is little funny, since a bit of a rift exploded when she asked divas Lil’ Mo, Chrisette Michele, and Leela James to sing backing vocals for her song earlier this season — and things didn’t go quite as planned. In the clip below, however, Chanté seemingly takes her position graciously and hits the booth to lay down some vocals.

All appears to be going well with the ladies as their creative juices are flowing. Claudette Ortiz drops a little sexy en español, and Michel’le even jokes that she thinks there’ll be some “baby-making” going on to their song!

Speaking of Michel’le, the singer is getting a shot at redemption during the new episode, as she’s headed to San Diego for yet another performance. The divas are all invited to attend, but when the limo arrives to pick them up… it’s quite the squeeze.

After getting adjusted in their seats, the ladies all hope that Michel’le can keep it together long enough to see through to the end of this performance, as Michel’le was visibly unhinged during her set at the Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade.

So will she be able to make it through? And will Chanté be OK with just singing backup? Guess we’ll have to tune in to find out!

A new episode of R&B Divas L.A. Season 2 airs tonight, Wednesday, August 27 at 10 p.m. ET on TV One.
