Back in 2006, we were shocked to hear about Brandy Norwood’s involvement in a fatal car accident. The crash on the 405 Freeway in L.A. left a wife and mother of two, Awatef Aboudihaj, dead and Brandy, the driver of the car that rear-ended Awatef’s, at a total loss.
Now, nearly eight years after the December accident, Brandy sat down with Oprah to discuss that horrible day. Appearing on the OWN reality series Where Are They Now?, the 35-year-old entertainer described “the worst time” for her, a time she admits she prefers not to recall.
“You never wake up thinking ‘Today’s the day that something like this will happen,’” Brandy explains, tears in her eyes. While no criminal charges were brought against Brandy, the day’s repercussions still haunts her.
“Being involved in something that tragic and I just couldn’t believe it,” she tells Oprah. “I don’t like to think about it because I don't think it’s something I could ever get over or ever truly understand but that was one of the worst times in my life.”
