It’s been a cruel summer for former Voice coach Usher. The R&B superstar was sent into a panic back in August when his 5-year-old son almost drowned in the pool at his house. And though the little tot is doing just fine these days, Ush is now dealing with a tragic loss.

The singer’s publicist, Patti Webster, passed away from brain cancer over the weekend, and Usher took to Instagram to remember his friend’s life.

“To my sister and friend Patti Webster. Thank you for always watching over and guiding us all, I know that won't stop from heaven. You are missed and will never be forgotten. URIV,” he captioned a picture of his publicist.

According to the New York Daily News, Patti also represented Alicia Keys, Halle Berry, Steve Harvey, and Janet Jackson. She passed at age 49 in Somerville, N.J. and her firm W&W Public Relations was the first to announce the news.

We’re very sorry to hear of Usher’s loss. Clearly Patti was a talented member of many celebs’ PR teams.
