Val Chmerkovskiy just wanted to come home and relax late Sunday night, but when he arrived at his house, it was on fire. The Dancing With the Stars pro revealed that half of his abode burned down on October 6, rendering him homeless.

“Come home to finally get some rest... to find out my building was on fire,” Val wrote a little after midnight, adding, “Thank god no one got hurt.”

From there, he shared a few more details, including a photo of all the fire trucks parked in front of his place.

“Yes.. My house was on fire. I am now homeless #greatnewstocomehometo,” he captioned the pic. “Thank god no one got hurt. Half the building burned down.” However, he still was able to crack a joke, in spite of losing his home and all of this belongings inside.

Val shared an Instagram video of the trucks working on putting out the fire and his friend Sergeo explaining that he didn’t do it. “That's a first #sergedidntdoit @sergeonik,” Val wrote. Based on Sergeo’s similar photo and caption, it’s the L.A. home that Val and Maks share with him.

“Came home and the roof was on fire #tellmaksididnotdoit,” Sergeo wrote on Instagram. The worst part? Maks has been in Kiev, Ukraine, and flew back to New York City a few hours ago, so it looks like he’ll be staying in his NYC pad instead of a hotel in Los Angeles.

Fingers crossed that Val was able to take care of things and distract himself with DWTS tonight. We’ll be keeping the Chmerkovskiy brothers in our thoughts.
