Vampire Diaries Costumes: How To Dress Like Your Favorite Mystic Falls Resident For Halloween
Halloween may come once a year for most people, but for the residents of Mystic Falls, it’s practically Halloween all year round given the number of supernaturals that populate that small town. So if you're looking for the perfect last-minute costume for All Hallow’s Eve, look no further than the sexy vamps, werewolves, and hybrids from The Vampire Diaries!
Since we all know you're planning a group TVD costume with your besties, Wetpaint Entertainment is here to help. We’ve analyzed our favorite vamps’ styles for years (the good, the bad, and the ugly), so here are a few quick tips for how to dress like the Mystic Falls gang this Halloween. (Fake blood is optional!)
When we met Elena Gilbert way back in Season 1, she wasn't exactly a fashionista. She went for comfort over style, so human Elena might just be the easiest costume to pull off.
What you need: A purple Henley shirt, blue skinny jeans, black motorcycle boots, a hair straightener, and a silver necklace with a vintage feel (to re-create the vervain necklace Stefan gives to Elena).
In Season 4, Elena re-vamped her look when she became a vampire. Unable to deal with Jeremy's death, she flipped her humanity switch (with a little help from Damon), set her house on fire, and got pink streaks in her hair. She also traded in the Henleys for boho chic attire and started using a great volumizer.
Since sensitive Stefan Salvatore tries to live a normal teen existence (with perfectly coiffed hair), a Stefan costume consists of all the boyish separates that are easily found in a man's closet. Now that's a double-tasking Halloween shopping spree — no need to worry about bloodlust or buyer’s remorse!
What you need: Hair gel (for the perfectly coiffed 'do), a midnight blue button-down, dark grey jeans, a leather jacket, black boots, a daylight ring, and a pair of fangs.
Feminine and flirty, Caroline Forbes's style is totally girly chic. Pairing a sundress with a sweetheart neckline with pink cardigan, as well as your favorite pink heels, will capture Vampire Barbie perfectly.
What you need: Pink dress with a sweetheart neckline (like this one from ASOS!), a light denim jean jacket, a pair of nude or pink heels, a curling iron (to get Caroline's soft curls just right), a feminine daylight ring, and a set of fangs.
Bonnie Bennett's style is cute and comfy. She typically pairs a flowy top with dark skinny jeans and some chunky accessories. Add a pair of boots and a grimoire for good luck, and you're good to go!
What you need: A flowy, dark green top, a long-sleeved grey sweater cardigan, black booties, a chunky statement necklace, and a grimoire. (You should probably put a few candles in your back in case you need to bring anyone back to life at the party.)
Vampire or human, Katherine Pierce doesn't mess around when it comes to style. She may be Elena's doppelganger, but these two couldn't be more different. For Katherine, it's all about pulling off sleek trends that hug the body and show off her, um, assets.
What you need: A curl iron (because look at those flawless curls!), a tight black tank top, a leather jacket, skinny leather pants, black pumps, and a wicked sense of humor.
Little Jeremy Gilbert is all grown up! Since he spends most of his time working out, Jeremy's clothes reflect his on-the-go, hunter lifestyle. He has to be ready to break into a sprint at any moment, so it's all about versatility.
What you need: A white A-shirt, dark blue jeans, black boots, muscles, the Gilbert ring, and a crossbow (he is the hunter, after all).
What do you think, Vampire Diaries fans? Will you be rocking any of these costumes this Halloween? Sound off in the comments!
