Vampire Diaries Star Nina Dobrev Dances With the Hough Family — And It’s Amazing (VIDEO)

What did Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev do for Christmas this year? Break it down with the Hough family, of course! Julianne and Derek Hough are pretty much Dancing With the Stars royalty, both talents professional dancers. But it’s the whole family that’s breaking out the moves in this Instagram video — and family friend Nina fits right in.

“Just got out of the Hobbit. Oh yeah here is another. Sampson rocking the Santa Clause hat. #christmasdancewars @mariamenounos78 @markballas @ninadobrev @juleshough #houghfamily,” Derek captioned the Instagram vid of the entire family engaging in a good old fashioned choreographed dance number to the song “All Night” by Icona Pop. The entire gang is dressed in their most Christmas-y pajamas and the sheer thought that went into this 15-second video is seriously impressive.

And Nina totally holds her own amongst the family of dancers (and a very cute dog dressed in a Christmas hat). But are we really surprised about any hidden talents this actress extraordinaire has? She impresses us with every passing episode of TVD! As for the Hough connection, Nina is good friends with both Julianne and Derek, the latter of whom she briefly dated this past fall. It is Derek who is embroiled in a dance war with former DWTS partner Maria Menounos. What started as one vid from Maria on Thanksgiving day soon escalated into a day-long Instagram war — and it was back for Christmas. We love that Nina lent her moves to the effort.

What do you think of Nina’s moves and the video in general? Are you as impressed as we are? Sound off in the comments below!

The Vampire Diaries returns Thursday, January 23 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
