‘The Vampire Diaries’ Renewed For Season 8 — Plus 10 Other CW Shows
The CW announced today, March 11, that 11 of its shows are renewed for the 2016-2017 season. (Yes, that’s everything currently in production on the network.)
Arrow (Season 5), Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (Season 2), DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (Season 2), The Flash (Season 3), iZombie (Season 3), Jane the Virgin (Season 3), The Originals (Season 4), Reign (Season 4), Supernatural (Season 12), and The 100 (Season 4) join TVD in surviving at least one more season.
“The CW has become home to some of the most critically-acclaimed shows on broadcast television, with a wide array of fantastic scripted series across the week, ranging from musical comedy, to superhero action, to gritty sci-fi dramas,” network president Mark Pedowitz said in a press release.
While all these series will be returning, it’s uncertain right now when they will come back — be it Fall 2016, Midseason 2017, or Summer 2017 — and how long next season will be.
The Vampire Diaries Season 7 returns Friday, April 1, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
