“The ONLY way I was going to get into Harvard... Girls Impact The World Film Festival-such amazing young film makers. Wow,” Ian captioned the Instagram snapshot of himself sitting in a Harvard classroom.
Ian was one of the judges for the festival, which featured three top films selected from those submitted by high school and undergraduate students from around the globe. The three-to-five minute short films were all women-focused, covering topics like domestic violence and poverty.
This wasn’t the first enthusiastic tweet Ian shared about the event. Earlier in the weekend, he kept Twitter apprised of his arrival in Boston, writing: “Wheels down in Boston for The Girls Impact the World Film Fest-Go'n to Harvard to have some cool conversations & give some much-deserved awards.”
Later, he shared a photo of the festival’s logo projected onto a screen, captioning the pic: “SO honored to be surrounded by brilliant change making young women telling their stories thru the art of film...Wow.”
The three winners of the festival had their films screened at the event, and will also receive a monetary prize, film distribution channels, and an internship opportunity at an L.A. media agency. Pretty cool!
