It’s been four years of twists, deaths, resurrections, hook ups, and the hottest cast on TV. Now that The Vampire Diarie is on summer hiatus, we thought we’d take a look back at the first four seasons and you give you a chance to vote on your favorite.

Season 1
We were first introduced to Stefan (Paul Wesley), Elena (Nina Dobrev), and their diaries. Both had brothers with issues — Damon (Ian Somerhalder) liked to kill people and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) was a walking after-school special. Vicki Donovan’s (Kayla Ewell) death and Katherine’s (Nina Dobrev) appearance proved this world was far more dangerous than it’s exceedly attractive surface suggested.

Season 2
With Caroline’s (Candice Accola) transition into a vampire and Tyler’s (Michael Trevino) discovery of his werewolf gene, Mystic Falls’ supernatural population was on the rise. An introduction to the Original family by way of Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) ushered in some truly frightening villains. Meanwhile, Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Elena nearly died several times trying to save their friends; Aunt Jenna (Sara Canning) actually did meet her end.

Season 3
Two words: Ripper Stefan. While the younger Salvatore was out tearing people apart, Damon and Elena fought to return him to his former self. Rebekah (Claire Holt) and blond pony tail bobbed into Mystic Falls High School, desperate to attend any dance that would have her.  Tragedy of tragedies, we lost Alaric (Matt Davis).

Season 4
Elena grew fangs, got sired to Damon, turned off her emotions, and went on the great cure hunt of 2013. The big bad, Silas, revealed himself to be Stefan’s doppelganger, and Jeremy died and got ressurected. Unfortunately, Bonnie wasn’t so lucky. Oh! And Katherine’s human now.
