There must be something in the Original family’s water, because two Vampire Diaries actors are about to become parents — in real life. Alice Evans, who plays the siblings’ witchy mother, Esther, is expecting her second child, and Daniel Gillies’s (Elijah) wife, Rachael Leigh Cook, is also pregnant. Recently, Alice’s husband, Ioan Gruffudd (Fantastic Four), told Us Weekly when their new baby will arrive.

"Alice is due now September the 25th," the 39-year-old actor said. "It will be on us before we know it!" The couple met on the set of 102 Dalmatians and have a three-year-old daughter together.

"She'll be four by the time the baby arrives, so I think she'll cope quite well with it," Ioan said of daughter Ella. "She's very excited about the idea. I'm sure there will be jealousy and envy and all that stuff, but more than anything, she's really excited about it." Cute! Let’s hope the future siblings don’t take lessons from Alice’s on-screen family!

Though it’s been a while since we’ve seen Esther on TVD, we hope Alice won’t be too busy with her newborn to appear in a couple of flashbacks on The Originals. We’re dying to meet Klaus’s (Joseph Morgan) biological father!
