It’s been a rough summer for The Vampire DiariesStefan (Paul Wesley). Silas locked the vampire in a watery grave, and now the ancient doppelganger is going to take Mystic Falls by storm.

According to a new Vampire Diaries spoiler from TV Guide, Silas still has suicide — and his girlfriend — on the brain. “He still wants to get free from what he calls ‘this stinking 2,000-year-old immortal life,’” executive producer Julie Plec says. “He still hopes to die, to cross over to the other side, and be with his true love. But, of course, things will change along the way.”

Just how Silas will utilize Stefan’s life to further this goal isn’t clear. The only thing Julie will say about Silas is that his appearance throws “a wrench in things” for Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder). Awkward! Stefan was supposed to be living in a yurt.

However, the gang may have bigger problems on their hands. “He’s causing the most trouble at the beginning of the season, for sure, but by no means is he the biggest villain” in Season 5, says Julie of Silas.

It certainly sounds like the immortal just might Delena fans’ biggest villain, though!
