Have you been seething with jealousy and resentment toward your fellow fans who got to see The Originals backdoor pilot recut with extra footage over the weekend at the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con? Be envious no more! The CW has just put the full video on their website!

In the new version of the pilot — a different version aired as The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 20, “The Originals — has removed some scenes. In addition to altering the ending and beginning (where Stefan and Damon worry about an emotionless Elena), the phone message Klaus (Joseph Morgan) leaves Caroline (Candice Accola) has been cut. This upset a number of fans, but it makes sense from a storytelling perspective. Instead, the pilot now shows Klaus giving a bit of much-needed background (for those who have never watched TVD, at least) on his family, the Originals.

There were many other moments the new pilot needed to show as well, such as footage of 16-year-old witch Davina (Danielle Campbell). She reveals herself to be completely essential in the war between Klaus and Marcel (Charles Michael Davis). As for Rebekah (Claire Holt), she’s still sulking in Mystic Falls, while Elijah (Daniel Gillies) heads to New Orleans to help his brother out.

As if all these versions of the pilot weren’t confusing enough, this isn’t the episode The CW will air on October 15, when The Originals premieres. The cast will film an all-new pilot this summer. Until then, head over to The CW to check out the new version of the old pilot.
