With another season of The Vampire Diaries comes yet another big bad. This time, the big bad looks a lot like the show’s hero, perfectly coiffed hair and all. But other than his good looks, his psychic abilities, and the fact that he wants to die in order to be reunited with his love, there’s a lot we don’t know about Silas. And with Stefan (Paul Wesley) currently residing at the bottom of the quarry, we’re sure there’s a lot more Silas to come. Here are the five things we’d love to see from Season 5’s (possibly temporary) villain:

Murder: We are fully aware of how harsh this sounds, but you can’t be a big bad in Mystic Falls without proving your ruthlessness. For example, was the scene of Klaus (Joseph Morgan) slaughtering 12 hybrids with a sword harsh? Yes. Was it the perfect demonstration of how bad he can be? Absolutely. We understand how scary Silas can be mentally, but the physical part of being bad can be just as fun. And based on the Comic-Con trailer, it looks like we might get our wish.

The extent of his powers: Silas is psychic. He can make you see whatever he wants you to see. He can influence the minds of an entire time square. That’s cool and all, but what else can he do? This is the oldest immortal creature we’ve come across. He’s the one who helped invent the immortality spell, so what other tricks does Silas have up his sexy sleeve? We’d love to know.

Fangs: He clearly has them, because he did kill Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) that one time, and in the Comic-Con trailer we hear him talk about feeding. But other than those moments, we tend to forget that he’s a vampire. With his psychic abilities, he starts to feel more like an everyday (albeit very powerful) witch. Let’s see Silas use some vamp speed, compel some people, and then bite them! Wouldn’t that be fun?!

Flirtation: You can’t look like Stefan and not use that to your advantage with Elena (Nina Dobrev). Yes, she is in love with Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and they’re together right now, but did that ever stop Damon from flirting with Elena when she was with Stefan? No. And if we’re being honest, those moments were some of our favorites. So get your flirt on, Silas! This could be fun.

Tears: We are very excited to learn more about Silas’s backstory. At the end of the day, the guy is motivated by love. Sweet, right? If all he wants is to be reunited with his woman, then that means that the guy has a heart and a big one at that. Let’s see his softer side. It’s always incredibly powerful when the big bads cry. Just think back to Klaus facing off with Mikael. Ugh. We love it.

What else do you guys want to see Silas do during his time in Mystic Falls? Do you think he could end up being the one who rescues Stefan?
