Our plan of getting The Vampire DiariesIan Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore) to appear on every single television network is working perfectly. OK, we had nothing to do with this one. At yesterday’s Television Critics Association press tour, Showtime president of entertainment David Nevins announced the cable channel will air Years of Living Dangerously.

Executive producers James Cameron, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Jerry Weintraub are behind the documentary, which stars Matt Damon, Ian Somerhalder, Michael C. Hall, Don Cheadle, Olivia Munn, and many more.

“We know how to create noise off our air, we know how to make noise,” Nevins said of the movie. “Years of Living Dangerously has giant size to it. We’re spending a lot of money; it is going to feel like Jim Cameron size. It is a big action movie style production with great human stories.”

It definitely sounds right in Ian’s wheelhouse. You can go to the film’s website and subscribe for updates. The Tumblr page also has lots of environmental news, along with photos of Arnold Schwarzenegger traveling around to see how climate change is affecting various people and places, such as the men and women who fight forest fires.

The documentary will air in six to eight hour-long segments and is coming to Showtime in 2014. Will you tune in?
