There are often trends in pop culture, and one of the biggest ones throughout the past decade has been vampires. Honestly, vamps have been popular for much longer than that — let’s not forget Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel —  but the Twilight phenomenon paired with vampy shows like The Vampire Diaries (and now spin-off The Originals), True Blood, and the upcoming Dracula have taken the 21st century by storm.

No show is exactly alike, but there is one common thread across all franchises. No, not fangs — hot guys. It’s no secret that vampires are always hot (yet often cold to the touch), and better than that, they’re eternally young and hot. But which show has the sexiest fangers? Let’s break it down.

The Vampire Diaries and The Originals

On The Vampire Diaries, the core of the show is two hot brothers (Damon and Stefan)  fighting over a really sexy girl (Elena). They all are high school-aged, and the band of “Original” vamps (Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah) are so hot that they were banished to their own show. We kid, we kid. We also have Caroline on TVD and Marcel on The Originals, plus some dead hot vamps (R.I.P., Lexi and Kol), and at the end of the day, there’s no shortage of hot, young CW eye candy.

True Blood

True Blood has a different age of vampires, with Eric and Bill appearing in their 30s and 40s rather than being hot teens and 20 somethings. Nonetheless, Sookie Stackhouse was attracted to them both for different reasons, and she happens to be around their “age,” too. The HBO drama is more of an adult show, not only because of nudity and gore, but because of the cast’s age. Let’s be real, though — no one’s complaining about anyone getting shirtless; everyone’s like a fine wine. In addition to the main guys, we have sexy young vamp Jessica, Tara and Pam — lesbian vamps in love — and a slew of dearly-departed hot vamps, too. There isn’t a vampire we haven’t seen at least half-naked on the show — especially Alexander Skarsgard, who went full-frontal this season — and we’re not complaining.

Dracula

The latest on the scene is NBC’s Dracula, starring the swoon-worthy Jonathan Rhys-Meyers as the titular character. This series is the only one not set in the present, instead in the Victorian era, and is a reimagining of the classic novel. Given that in the book Dracula has a handful of brides, we see no shortage of shirtless moments for him on the show, and even if he doesn’t take his clothes off, his charms come off in other ways. In fact, we will let him represent the show instead of listing other characters — he’s that gorgeous.

We could go on with vampires of past, present, and future, but we’ll leave it at these three shows. Which one has the hottest vamps? Try not to be biased, study the photos above, then vote in our poll below!
