When we last left Jeremy Gilbert on The Vampire Diaries Season 4, things were bittersweet.

Though he was alive again, it was in exchange for girlfriend Bonnie Bennett’s life when she sacrificed herself for him.

So, what’s next for the newly-revived Mystic Falls resident? Will he spill the beans and grieve with his friends and family? Not quite.

“From Jeremy’s perspective, it’s losing another loved one and it being my fault,” portrayer Steven R. McQueen told TV Fanatic, adding that he’s “carrying the weight of that secret.” And to makes matters worse, he’s unable to move on.

“My heart is still with Bonnie,” he reveals. Looks like he won’t be finding a new lady love anytime soon, though he will be having a new kind of relationship with Damon Salvatore after they start shacking up!

After Jeremy and Elena’s house burnt down, she went off to college (which we’ll see this season), so Steven explains he’s “kind of stuck rooming with Damon.” It’s not a bromance, though. They’re “butting heads a little bit, getting in each other’s comfort zones.” Why? “He’s hooking up with my sister!” he exclaims.

While Steven remained tight-lipped about his exact reaction to Damon and Elena’s romance, he reveals that Jeremy knows how to fight this season and dished,  “I don’t think I’m stoked about it … it’s definitely interesting.”

Do you think Jeremy and Damon will get along? Sound off below!
