Even though The Tomorrow People doesn’t premiere until October 9, it’s already Popular thanks to former WB star Carly Pope.

The actress, who is most well-know for the late ‘90s drama and 24, joins the cast in a recurring role, TVLine reports. She will play Morgan Burke, a super-powered mutant “who has managed, thanks to an illicit relationship with a very powerful man, to conceal her paranormal abilities from the government organization which hunts down her kind.”

However, as to be expected, her connection is later exposed, and she “becomes a pawn in a shadow war between the species.”

Based on what executive producer Julie Plec told Wetpaint Entertainment, relationships within this war will be the central theme of The Tomorrow People.

“It’s about family, it’s about the search for community, it’s about trying to discover and get to the root of who you really are and not compromise the people that are most important to you — even when you’re caught in the middle of some pretty high-stake situations,” she explained. So, will Carly’s character, Morgan, compromise her relationships to save herself? Or will she team up with some super-powered cohorts? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Are you excited to see Carly on Tomorrow People? Sound off below, and catch the show’s premiere on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
