Season 5 of The Vampire Diaries promises a slew of dramatic new storylines for our favorite Mystic Falls residents, but we’re perhaps most intrigued to see what the future holds for Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham).

In the Season 4 finale, Bonnie officially died (sacrificing herself for Jeremy Gilbert) and, in the upcoming season, she will be a full-on ghost. Kat talked to MTV’s Hollywood Crush about Ghost Bonnie and glimpses into the mysterious “other side.”

"You're definitely going to get to see the other side, which is something we've never explored on The Vampire Diaries before,” Kat told MTV. “That's always been a mystery, so you'll get to see that.” We’re glad to hear Bonnie’s scenes won’t all feature her haunting Mystic Falls residents who can’t see her or speaking to her friends via translator Jeremy (i.e. the only living person who can see and talk to ghosts).

So, how is Bonnie feeling about her new ghosty status? "Bonnie was someone who...didn't want to tell her friends that she was gone. She wanted them to enjoy college life, and I think she just had the idea that she was going to figure it out or everything was going to work itself out like it always did,” Kat said. “So you'll get to see her try to find some truth and balance and find the answers to her questions of what's going to happen."

We don’t blame Bonnie for thinking she might dodge death - it’s pretty much Mystic Falls’ favorite pastime. But, it sounds like Bonnie won’t be finding a magical ghost cure anytime soon, which we’re actually glad to hear. If people don’t ever stay dead on TVD (at least for a little while), then life-or-death situations become decidedly less dramatic.
