We’re excited that the Mikaelson family has their very own show in The Originals, but we lament the loss of the dynamic between Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah and their best frenemies on The Vampire Diaries (mostly, we need more Klaroline scene-age). Will we get to see a crossover episode that brings these characters together again?!

“It's in talks right now,” executive producer Caroline Dries told Blastr about the possibility of a crossover ep. “The mythologies could work out perfectly. It's kind of above us now in terms of if we can actually pull the trigger on it. But we're all excited about the idea.”

As are we, Caroline! From this quote, it sounds like a crossover episode will definitely happen as long as The Originals stays on the air (a concern after its relatively low premiere ratings), especially given that the TVD and The Originals writing staff share a workspace.

"It's been a crazy process. This year has been super interesting with The Originals happening too. We share a giant office with those writers. It's kind of funny to watch their process and compare it to ours," Caroline said. Sounds like an ideal space for cross-show collaboration…

Are you as eager for a crossover episode as we are? Sound off in the comments below!
