Wow. Was it just us or was Season 5, Episode 3 ("Original Sin") one of the best episodes of The Vampire Diaries ever? It was a fast-paced thrill-ride, full of twists and turns. Not only did we learn why Silas wanted Katherine, but we also met Qetsiyah, the witch who doomed Silas to an eternity without his true love.

Of course, we also learned that Qetsiyah is crazier than Taylor Swift on her worst days. This woman holds one heck of a grudge! In fact, both Qetsiyah, who prefers to be called Tessa, and Silas want Katherine — because he blood is the cure. That's right. By giving Katherine the cure, Elena effectively turned Katherine into a weapon of mass vampire destruction.

But perhaps even more shocking is the fact that Silas's true love was actually the Original Petrova doppelganger. This means Tatia was't the first doppelganger. Nope. Not at all. In fact, she was just one in a long line of shadow selves, created to fix the balance between life and death. And because Silas and Amara were soulmates, their doppelgangers always manage to fall in love too. So this means Stefan and Elena's fates are forever intertwined. Is your mind blown yet?

In order to limit Silas's true power, Qetsiyah links Silas and Stafan together, thereby zapping Stefan's brain and erasing his memories. Now, we know there's a lot to take in here, TVD fans. But we're going to keep it simple: Does Damon stand a chance against fate?

We'll have to wait until Season 5, Episode 4 ("For Whom the Bell Tolls") to find out how Damon is going to react to Stefan and Elena's rekindling, but if next week's episode is as epic as "Original Sin," Season 5 is shaping up to be quite an epic adventure.
