After all of the bombs dropped in last night’s episode of The Vampire Diaries (Season 5, Episode 3: “Original Sin”), we’re not sure if we can wait a whole week to find out if Stefan will get his memory back, what Nadia does with Katherine, and how Qetsiyah will continue to exact her revenge against Silas. Luckily, we have a promo to tide us over! Here are five things we know from watching the preview for Season 5, Episode 4: “For Whom the Bell Tolls.”

Elena is still in Mystic Falls

So much for returning to Whitmore after finding Stefan! Though Elena told Caroline that she would be back for classes, partying, and other college shenanigans as soon as she found Stefan, it seems she’s lingering in Mystic Falls. In the promo, we see her bumping into Stefan in the empty hallways of Mystic Falls High. Wrong campus, Elena!

Stefan is falling in love with Elena... again

Not only are these former flames bumping into one another, but Stefan seems to be falling for Elena again, enacting the doppelgangers’ destiny exactly as Qetsiyah bitterly prophesied. In the promo, we see Stefan and Elena taking a walk down to the Mystic Falls lake. Stefan tells Elena, “How do I not remember you?” And Elena notes that, “Seeing you like this is so strange.” Is Stelena love in the air?

There may be a Stelena kiss?!

The shot we see of Stefan and Elena moving in for a kiss certainly seems to suggest so. We can’t help but notice that Stelena’s kiss and lakeside walk are very similar to the hallucinations he was having whilst trapped in the safe. Is Stefan remembering the painful hallucinations he experienced of Elena while stuck in that quarry? Or does this almost-kiss (or actual kiss) really happen?

Damon is really angry

In the promo, we see an angry Damon yelling, “Why would you say that?!” at poor Jeremy. This is most likely the “startling confession that hits Damon hard” mentioned in the episode synopsis. Does Jer finally tell someone about Bonnie’s death? It seems the most likely explanation, but who knew Damon would be so upset about it? Is he upset for Elena’s sake, or is he really so angry to hear that Bonnie is gone? Either way, we can’t wait for this scene!

Damon is employing some unconventional memory-retrieval techniques

Finally, the promo shows us Damon taking Stefan for a rather dangerous joyride although, on this trip, it seems Damon is actually aiming to crash. “Trust me?” Damon asked his amnesiac brother. “Do I really have a choice?” Stefan replies. “Nope,” says Damon, then we see a shot of the car crashing. Our best guess is that Damon is purposefully rolling their car to help Stefan remember, but maybe it has to do with avoiding Qetsiyah and/or Silas? So many reasons to roll one’s car in this town!
