Matt is losing it on The Vampire Diaries. But it’s not like we can blame the guy for feeling like he’s losing his mind. After all, he does have one very angry Czech possessing his brain.

In this sneak peek from Season 5, Episode 4 (“For Whom the Bell Tolls”), via The Hollywood Reporter, Matt is struggling to put the pieces together after his recent blackouts. So he sets up cameras around his house to try and figure out how he keeps losing time. He confides in Jeremy, and tells him he needs to talk to Bonnie. “I think she’s the only one who can help me.”

Jeremy, being the amazing boyfriend that he is, quickly covers for his dead girlfriend, telling Matt she’s “in D.C. with her mom or something.” However, Matt only becomes more irritated.

“I sent her 300 emails this summer, and she writes back twice. Did I do something to piss her off?” And if that wasn’t awkward enough for little Gilbert, his bestie makes one final plea: “I need you to help me get in contact with her, OK? I haven’t slept… I’m scared I’m going crazy here. I need her help.”

That really must have struck a nerve with Jeremy because the next thing you know, he’s running out the door. We know Bonnie doesn’t want to be the bearer of bad news, but her friends could really use her help, and she’s still running away from her fears on the “Other Side.”

Wherever Jeremy went, we hope it was to knock some sense into Bonnie because girlfriend needs a reality check!
