Caroline may have gotten her heart broken at the Whitmore Historical Society Ball, but at least she looked fabulous, right?

We know The Vampire Diaries’ resident party planner pulls out all the stops when it comes to costume balls (see Decade Dance one, two, and three for further proof), so we weren’t really surprised when Caroline expertly recreated Faye Dunaway’s classic ensemble from 1967’s Bonnie and Clyde. Yellow sweater? Check. Chic beret? Check. Hunky arm candy? Check!

Caroline’s portrayer, Candice Accola, was equally as impressed with her character’s vintage style. Behind the scenes, Candice practiced her “best Faye” looks on set, and she snapped this stunning shot below.

So we ask you, dear readers, to sound off on which blonde wore it best. Do you prefer Faye’s timeless ensemble, or did you like Candice’s modern interpretation? Vote using the reaction buttons below!

As for us, well, we think both of these stunning beauties can rock this look any day of the week — costume ball not necessary.
