Bonnie is starting to realize that being the anchor between the Other Side and the real world is not exactly her idea of a good time. The Whitmore freshman may finally be alive, but she can see dead supernaturals — and most gruesomely of all, she can feel their deaths. Suddenly, we're starting to understand how Amara got so crazy.

When The Vampire Diaries returns for Season 5, Episode 8 ("Dead Man on Campus"), Bonnie and Stefan are having a hard time facing their new realities. For Bonnie, she's coming to terms with what a pain (literally!) being the anchor to The Other Side can be. Not only does she exist in two worlds, but she also feels the pain of every supernatural death — which, judging by the body count in Mystic Falls alone, sounds excruciating.

As for Stefan, well, getting his revenge on Silas didn't take away the pain and psychological effects of being locked up in that safe all summer. In fact, poor Stefan is suffering from PTSD. He's still fighting the urge to flip his humanity switch, but it looks like Katherine — who's currently running on borrowed time — is there to comfort him? We wonder how Elena is going to feel about that, especially since we know an "unbelievable hook-up" is headed to Mystic Falls.
