In Season 4 of The Vampire Diaries, Jeremy Gilbert went from Elena’s little brother to a fearless (and seriously sexy) hunter. So in our books, Jeremy is already a superhero, but is his portrayer, Steven R. McQueen, ready to take on an actual superhero gig of his own?

Steven has been campaigning for a guest spot on CW's Arrow as Batman's sidekick Nightwing ever since he read the comics earlier this year. He even posted a photo of himself working out in a Nightwing muscle shirt with the caption, “Nightwing training.”

Now, it looks like Nightwing may be coming to CW’s Arrow after all! Steven recently tweeted, “Had some superhero conversations with the executives this weekend @ARROWwriters.” He also tweeted this photo from the writers’ room:

Given that Steven’s Vampire Diaries boss Julie Plec is a good friend of Arrow producer Greg Berlanti's (the two are executive producers of the CW's new hit series The Tomorrow People), this casting was destined to happen. Plus, have you seen Steven’s arms lately? He’s already in crime-fighting shape!

While the CW has yet to confirm the casting, we’re holding out hope that the TV gods will make it happen. Seeing how Steven is already meeting with the writers and executive producers, this sounds like a done deal.

What do you think, TVD fans? Would you like to see Steven as Nightwing on the CW's Arrow? Sound off in the comments!
