Have you ever wondered why vervain — one of the most common plants in the South and a vampire's version of kryptonite — is so hard to come by in Mystic Falls? We know the Salvatore brothers played a part in wiping out vervain in Mystic Falls, but how did they accomplish the task? This is the central focus of the first chapter in The Vampire Diaries digital comic series, titled, "Vervain,” written by Colleen Doran with art by Tony Shasteen.
In Parts 1 and 2 of "Vervain," we learn that magic played a huge part in getting rid of vervain from Mystic Falls. In fact, an anti-vervain spell was cast by a witch named Julian. But it seems 150 years later, he’s not too happy with the Salvatore brothers.
“Vervain” concludes with Part 3, and Wetpaint Entertainment has an exclusive first look at the exciting conclusion for all of you TVD fans! In “Vervain, Part 3,” Julian’s final revenge promises to make life unbearable for all vampires: all the magic he’s accumulated over the centuries will make vervain the most common plant on Earth. But the Salvatores have one more trick up their sleeves, naturally.
