Guys, guys — Michael Malarkey can sing! The newest hottie to join the cast of The Vampire Diaries wowed us in Season 5, Episode 9 (“The Cell”) with his turn as tortured vamp Enzo. Now we’re even more impressed with his musical talent. Check out the video of Michael performing his very own song live. You won’t believe how good he is!

The vid (audio only) gives us a listen into Michael’s live performance of his original song, “The Bells Still Ring” — and it’s so good. Like, on every level. It is a solidly written song with beautiful, melancholic lyrics and accompanied by Michael’s guitar-playing. But, our favorite part, is Michael’s husky-yet-smooth voice put to music. Can we please get some full-on singing from Enzo in TVD? Pretty please? Potentially using this song. Check out some of the lyrics:

“It's a long and lonesome road if you ain't got nobody to hold
So I fell in love with a girl and then I told her so
She was drunk in the fountain, blowing bubbles at the stars and laughing
I thought it was childish, but then I caught the joke
It made me laugh and it made me sneeze like a common cold
But I felt alive and I wanted her to know.”

Enzo has already won us over as Damon’s confidante, friend, and prison break partner on TVD. When Damon left his to die in the Augustine Society fire, it broke our hearts. Now that we know he survived, we can’t wait to hear more of his story — no matter how hard it may be. And, judging by this soulful performance, we have no doubt Michael has the depths to pull this complex and heartbreaking character off.

Do you love this song and Michael’s voice as much as we do? Sound off in the comments below!
