Whether or not Katherine Pierce (Nina Dobrev) dies in the 100th episode of The Vampire Diaries or not, there will be a discussion of what her life has meant to this core cast of characters — and we cannot wait to see that. Though we love watching Katherine on the screen, she’s not so great to have around in “real life.” Candice Accola (Caroline) spoke to E! Online about how the TVDers react to the Big Bad on her death bed.

"We obviously we all know Katherine is not doing very well and it's showing in a very big way, so everyone's been expressing what Katherine has meant to their life, whether that's good, which not a lot of it's really good; it's basically all bad,” said Candice. “They're bonding over hating Katherine and waiting to see what her fate will be."

From what we hear, none of the main TVDers — save for Stefan — are at all torn up about the born-again-human’s death. And as much as we love Katherine, can we really blame them? The 500-year-old former vamp came to town only to start impersonating Elena, chopping off fingers, and killing main cast members. Still, there are some characters who would feel her absence keenly.

According to executive producer Caroline Dries, “[Katherine] doesn't have a huge fan base at the Salvatore house where she is, so Stefan is the person who's there for her.” And we’re guessing Nadia would be pretty torn up about her mother’s death. Surprisingly, there’s also Elena to consider. According to the synopsis for the episode, “Elena and Katherine share an unexpected moment of connection.” Will these doppelgangers finally find some common ground? Because that sounds nice — and final. And, even for the characters who hate Katherine, it would be strange for them to have her gone forever. After all, she’s the one who brought these characters together.

How do you think the TVDers would react to Katherine potential death? Do you think she’ll actually die or will the show throw in a last-minute plot twist to save her? Sound off in the comments below!
