Bad news, Forwood followers! It doesn’t sound like Tyler (Michael Trevino) and Caroline (Candice Accola) will be getting back together on The Vampire Diaries anytime soon — or, you know, ever. Check out what Candice told TV Guide!

“Do I think they can come back from Caroline's time with Klaus? I don't think so,” Candice said. “On paper, no one did anything wrong. They were broken up. No one cheated. But it's personal. When you cross those lines and those boundaries, I would find it pretty impossible to be in a relationship and then be able to come back from that.” We sort of agree — at least for right now.

Though we enjoyed the Klaroline hookup as much as the next TVD fan, that was the vamp who killed Tyler’s mother. Klaus (Joseph Morgan) has humiliated Tyler, taken away his family, and shown absolutely no remorse for it save for the effect is has had on Caroline. We don’t think Tyler will ever be able to get over that enough to be with Caroline again romantically. Then again, this show moves at the rate of roughly 100 plot twists per minute, so you never know!

What about friendship? Candice weighed in on that subject, too, teasing, “Caroline needs this idea of perfection and for no one to be mad at her and for everyone to be happy at all times, so we'll see a lot of great scenes coming up between Caroline and Tyler with her struggling to find a friendship, but also release some of the guilt she's been holding onto because she knows she made a mistake.”

So, TVD isn’t forgetting the Forwood relationship anytime soon — even if it stays platonic. We kind of love that. Regardless of where they go from here, these are two characters who grew up together and still love each other in some way. It would be nice to see them make some sort of peace. Plus, there’s only like 10 people living in Mystic Falls right now, so it’s either get along with one another or be friendless.

Do you think there’s a chance Caroline and Tyler will ever get back together? Do you want them to? Sound off in the comments below!
