The extended promo for next week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries is packed full of plot-y goodness. Or worrisome set-ups, if you’re concerned about the continued existence of Katherine Pierce (Nina Dobrev). What goes down in the 30-second trailer?

“If they know who you really are, they will come for you,” a very pale Nadia (Olga Fonda) tells Katherine. She’s not looking so good. Seems like the werewolf venom is really coursing through her system. Where’s Klaus when you need him? Maybe the TVDers keep some of his blood on hand for such emergencies? If it were just Katherine against the other TVDers, we wouldn’t be so worried about her survival. But, with Nadia’s life hanging in the balance, we’re not so sure the 500-year-old vamp will come out on top this time.

Either way, the gig is officially up. “Katherine’s been inhabiting Elena’s body,” Stefan tells Damon, who is still chained up in the basement.

“She’s brilliant,” Damon says, impressed. We totally concur. Don’t let her die, show.

Unfortunately, killing Katherine to get Elena back seems to be the gang’s plan: “All we have to do it stab her with the Traveler knife,” Stefan outlines. But, first, they have to get to her. Caroline suggests luring her over: “We gotta get her to come to us. Get her guard down,” Caroline says. Team Steroline with the one, two punch!

Whatever the trap, it seems to work — probably because Katherine is walking willingly into it. Damon opens the Salvatore mansion door to Katherine. Wait, is he the butler now? And what happened to the chains? Last time we checked, he was still a dangerous vampire cannibal.

“So, which one of you is going to get to kill the elusive Katherine Pierce?” Katherine asks as she walks into the manor. Don’t joke, Katherine. We’re very upset at this prospect! Especially given the promo-ending shot of what looks like someone getting stabbed in the stomach. Eek!

Do you think Katherine will die? Do you think Nadia will die? Sound off in the comments below!
