Amid rumors that Vampire Diaries star Kat Graham (Bonnie) has officially tied the knot with fiancé Cottrell Guidry, Kat is chatting finding love with B* Real. What did she say was the secret to finding the person she wanted to spend the rest of her life with?

“I wasn’t looking for love,” Kat confessed at the Black Women Film Network Presents: The Untold Stories Luncheon in Atlanta. “I had almost sworn off the idea of dating for a while because I had just come out from a heartbreaking relationship, but it literally just fit like a glove. I want to spend the rest of my life with him, and I am.”

Kat and Cottrell seem totally in love. On Valentine’s Day, Kat shared a photo of Cottrell lying with his head in her lap, gazing into his fiance’s eyes: “Happy Valentine's Day @cottrellguidry,” Kat captioned the oh-so-sweet shot.

What advice does Kat give to those still looking to find someone to spend their life with?: “Keep your eyes on God and on the prize. Just keep focused on your career and your relationship with yourself spiritually and all those things just work themselves out. It was only when I was focused on becoming whole within myself and just being content [that it happened].”

Kat also recommends making sure you have in common some important life experiences: “It makes a difference. I feel like our lives have been so parallel with our careers and the struggles of being African-Americans in this industry," she says of her relationship with Guidry. "You should really be with somebody who you identify with and who identifies with you.”

Great advice, Kat! We think Bonnie would agree — she and Jeremy totally have these experiences in common: dying, come back from the dead, and trying to navigate high school with supernatural killers at every corner.
