In this week’s all-new episode of The Vampire Diaries, Elena (Nina Dobrev) is back from body banishment and doesn’t yet know all of the terrible things Damon (Ian Somerhalder) has done in her absence. In this sneak peek from Zap2it, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig) are using that fact to taunt Damon.

In the minute-long glimpse into Season 5, Episode 16 (“While You Were Sleeping”), Jer and Matt are bringing Damon some blood. The Ripper Virus-infected vamp is still chained up in the Salvatore mansion dungeon, and he doesn’t look too happy about it. Jeremy is also not happy about bringing Damon his daily cup of blood. He sets it on the floor, just out of Damon’s reach.

“Hilarious. Give me the damn cup,” Damon demands, and Jeremy slowly pushes it over to him. Damon does not think this is funny: “You wipe that smile off your face.”

“Hey, you’re lucky I’m even helping you,” Jeremy says, “considering the last thing you did for me was tell Enzo to strangle me to death.” So Jer’s still upset about that, then? That was like three whole episodes ago.

“Quit crying,” Damon tells him. “You’re still around.”

Matt, who until this point has been lurking in the doorway, takes the opportunity to speak up: “Yeah, more than we can say for Aaron Whitmore. Weren’t he and Elena tight?” Jeremy confirms that they were. “Does she know Damon killed him?”

“I don’t know. Does she?” Jeremy asks. These two should start a comedy team — excellent back-and-forth bantering.

Damon cuts in: “No. She doesn’t. Because I’m gonna be the one to tell her. And, if either one of you clowns beats me to it, I’ll rip your tongue out.” We doubt that would help the situation, Damon. Jeremy doesn’t seem to concerned about it, either. His phone rings and he checks the caller I.D. From the giddy look on his face, we can guess it’s probably Elena.

Do you think Jeremy will tell Elena about Damon’s killing spree? Regardless of whom tells her, how do you think Elena will react? Sound off in the comments below!
