Women love The Vampire Diaries! The supernatural series performed well this week in the ratings, especially when it came to female viewership. Roughly 2.24 million of you tuned in to watch Elena try to readjust to life after body banishment. In fact, Season 5, Episode 16 (“While You Were Sleeping”) was the show’s most-watched telecast in two key demographics since the January 23rd episode.

TVD scored the top spot in “women, ages 18-34” and tied for second in the “adults, ages 18-34” demographic, making it the most-watched in those categories since the 100th episode! This marked a rise of 14 percent in the former category and 10 percent in the latter. TVD also rose a significant 15 percent in the “women, ages 18-49” category. These are all key demographics!

The CW did quite well across the night. At 9 p.m. ET, freshman series Reign saw a 10 percent increase in total viewers, drawing in 1.64 million TV watchers to the soapy intrigues of French court. Reign also garnered some impressive wins in key demographics: It rose a whopping 50 percent in “adults, 18-34” and “women, 18-34.” It jumped 40 percent in “adults, 18-49” and 43 percent in “women, 18-49.” Not too shabby for a show that started out the season with modest numbers.

Overall, the CW’s Thursday night lineup was up 8 percent in “women, 18-34” and 12 percent in “adults, 18-49” since the last airing of original episodes two weeks ago. Keep up the good work, epic love triangles!
