Arielle Kebbel is back with this week’s Vampire Diaries rehash for Season 5, Episode 17 (“Rescue Me”). What does she think of Delena breakup chemistry, Steroline loveliness, and Enzo’s chances with Caroline? Read on to find out!

This week’s rehash began with some awesome impressions of Traveler chanting from myriad TVD fans across the interwebs. But Arielle was more interested in the “naked breakfast and chemistry labs” hotness that Delena was exuding in Episode 17. Also, general consensus: we were all in love with Tom Avery, aka Stefan’s adorable EMT doppelganger. But as Arielle put it: “Well, unfortunately, the ‘Atlanta Assassination Squad’ moved in fast.” Bye, Tom.

No episode of TVD rehash is complete with a in memoriam montage for the show’s latest victim. In this case: the one true love affair between Tom Avery and his waffles. The slow-motion shots of Tom and his waffles set to a sentimental ballad are worth the rehash watch alone! As Arielle noted, “Tom’s death might hurt Enzo’s chances with Caroline.” Farewell, Carenzo. We hardly knew thee.

“Back in Mystic Falls, Liv was busy being a bad witch,” Arielle notes, trying (and failing) to kill Elena. “Her penalty? Torture by Delena bickering.” There is no greater punishment. This episode also brought us that adorable Steroline snuggling in a station wagon scene, and — like many of us — Arielle was totally on board with it. Until the Travelers interrupted with a little self-immolation. Not cool, guys.

Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until April 17 to find out what happens next in the Travelers’ plan to...do something evil. But don’t blame Arielle for the three-week hiatus: “I’m sorry. I don’t make the schedule around here, but the good news is you can all rest up for what promises to be an amazing run of episodes all leading up to the season finale.” OK, fine. But only because you asked nicely, TVD.
