Vampire Diaries star Nathaniel Buzolic (Kol Mikaelson) is a busy bloke these days, with guest appearances on Pretty Little Liars and landing a role in the Supernatural spin-off. Does he have time to return to TVD? It certainly looks like it!

The Aussie actor recently tweeted a photo of himself giving his best vampire impression next to the sign for TVD executive producer Julie Plec’s parking space. He captioned the hilarious pic: “Violators will be towed & killed by a vampire..@julieplec.” Does this mean he is on set filming? We think it might, which is very exciting. We knew Kol would make an appearance in the next few episodes, as we can see from this promo for Season 5, but — if he’s filming now — that means he will pop up again before the season is out.

This certainly fits with what’s going down in Mystic Falls. Apparently, the Other Side is disintegrating, which means all of the people who reside in the supernatural purgatory would presumably be redistributed to heaven or hell or whatever exists in this fictional universe. Basically, they’d be dead dead. We’re guessing Kol might have something to say about that, given that — if there is a heaven and hell — we think he’s headed for the latter (a la Katherine Pierce).

Kol’s reappearance on TVD also bodes well for a potential future appearance on spin-off The OriginalsThough Julie has said that Kol’s appearance on The Originals doesn’t make sense right now, that doesn’t mean it won’t in the future — especially if he manages to find a way back to this mortal plane via TVD’s latest shenanigans.

Are you happy to see Kol back? Do you think he will head to The Originals? Sound off in the comments below!

The Vampire Diaries airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
