Not everyone Vampire Diaries character will make it out of Season 5 alive. That’s the gist we took from showrunner Julie Plec’s recent convo with E! Online. Oh yeah, and The Originals characters aren’t safe, either. What do you expect on shows populated with killers?

Julie told the news outlet: “I think that there will be an impressive body count on both shows by the time the seasons are over.” Par for the course, right? Well, get this: some of the deaths will be a big deal. As in major characters. As in people we love. As in your TV-watching life may never be the same.

So, who’s gonna kick the bucket? Well, we’ve already made a list of possible contenders, but we can’t help but think Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham) is climbing the list with every unsettling mention of the Other Side and its imminent destruction. The synopsis for Season 5, Episode 19 (“Man on Fire”) Episode reads: “Bonnie does her best to be realistic about how the changes happening on the Other Side will affect her existence as the Anchor.” Executive producer Caroline Dries teased the possibility of Bonnie’s demise, saying: "We raise the question, 'Can you even kill Bonnie? What would happen? When she's in danger, the whole Other Side is in jeopardy, so it's a big deal to keep her safe.”

As for The Originals, this show is so full of new characters and unexpected plot twists, that pretty much anyone — save Klaus, Elijah, and Hayley — is up for grabs. We definitely think Father Kieran is going to bite it, but that’s just a foregone conclusion at this point. Other likely possibilities include: Genevieve, Monique, and Jackson. If anyone touches a hair on Josh’s head, we’re coming for them.
